Zoe's Books

I could read before I could write. I read now, when I can't write, or when I'm stuck in a writing rut. I read early in the morning, and late at night. I read to feel, and escape from feelings, and explore feelings I've never had but I'm curious about. I read for adventure and romance and passion and the journey. I read to my kids. I try to read to my husband, but he's busy reading himself. And he laughs at all the naughty parts...I don't get it, they're my favourite passages!

Love in the Afternoon - Alison Packard This was a 3.5 stars for me, but I bumped it to 4 because I'm really excited to read the next book.

Things that I loved: Kayla and how genuinely nice she is to everyone; the realistic length of time over which the relationship unfolded; how the author wove the acting into the story (that was the strongest part of the book for me, actually).

I wish this hadn't had the suspense element in it, I think it would have been stronger if that had been cut out and it was a bit shorter.
