Zoe's Books

I could read before I could write. I read now, when I can't write, or when I'm stuck in a writing rut. I read early in the morning, and late at night. I read to feel, and escape from feelings, and explore feelings I've never had but I'm curious about. I read for adventure and romance and passion and the journey. I read to my kids. I try to read to my husband, but he's busy reading himself. And he laughs at all the naughty parts...I don't get it, they're my favourite passages!

Protecting What's His (Line of Duty, #1) - Tessa Bailey Have to start my review with a spoiler. I don't care for disciplining in sex play. It just doesn't do anything for me. But I don't mind it in books, if it works for the characters. I can't abide by it without consent, however, and that happens early in this book. I almost didn't continue. I'm glad I did, because Derek redeemed himself later, but it was a fine line.

Hmmm. Maybe I need to spoiler the entire review. What to say about this that doesn't give away the story? Derek and Ginger are interesting, complicated people, and the story of how they find and keep each other is a cracktastic read. Willa is an awesome secondary character. I was left with a bunch of questions at the end of the book, which I don't mind, but dammit, I need a romance novel book club!
